Niendorf U19 Team Wins Season Opener

The NTSV Wildcats U19 opened their Youth Basketball Bundesliga (NBBL) campaign with a win. It marks the team’s first season in Germany’s top youth league—joining the Hamburg Towers as the second Hamburg program at this level. The strong debut shows the squad aims to establish itself and compete from day one.

Head coach Nyaradzai Ngwerume praised the team’s unity, discipline, and focus: the victory was earned, with the boys staying locked in for all 40 minutes. Recent training emphasized defensive solidity and clearly defined offensive roles—both of which were evident on the court.

Building a performance pathway

The Wildcats are doubling down on youth development and a clear pathway from U16/U18 into the NBBL roster. Many players have already gained experience beyond the region at tournaments and cup competitions. Since 2022, the club has also hosted major events and deepened cooperation with schools and community partners, connecting grassroots outreach with elite training.

“This is a great start—but the real win is that we’ve found our identity and can stick to it week after week.”
— Coach Ngwerume

The Wildcats want to carry this energy into the next fixtures. Home games at Sachsenweg are a community hub—fans, families, and youth teams are warmly invited to cheer on the U19s.

Let’s go, Wildcats! 🐾
